Position Summary

We are looking for an inspiring, creative, motivated sales-oriented Showroom Manager to lead our store in the historic San Francisco Ferry Building. Your role is to ensure the store meets sales goals and is a thriving place to work for a small sales team. This role requires a strong knowledge of Heath’s business, focusing on selling, strategizing, and providing an excellent customer experience at all times.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of all store functions and lead the showroom team in alignment with Heath’s vision, purpose, and values
  • Run a profitable showroom by meeting sales and profitability targets
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial data, including payroll budgets and P&L
  • Create a high-performing, dynamic team through consistent training, coaching, and feedback
  • Inspire customers and our staff through modeling and coaching on consistent selling behaviors that inspire customers towards a greater connection with our products
  • Effectively engage and lead a team by using Lean principles
  • Work closely with the Ferry Building Management Team on events and opportunities in the building

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of successful retail leadership experience
  • Demonstrated dynamic leadership skills with the ability to coach and motivate sales teams
  • Passion for design and other creative pursuits
  • Proficiency in interpreting and using retail financial metrics to drive key performance indicators
  • Experience in financial forecasting
  • Demonstrated ability to set standards and hold team members accountable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to delivering an outstanding customer experience
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Experience with POS systems and a high level of comfort with technology, including the ability to troubleshoot technology on both an iPad and laptop
  • Ability to comfortably lift 30 lbs and stand for long periods of time
  • Nice to have:
    • Experience with Shopify POS
  • Only local candidates will be considered.

 

Work Environment/Hours/ Compensation

  • ​​This full-time, exempt role works 100% onsite in our Ferry Building Showroom.
  • This position works 5 days a week, including at least one weekend day.
  • This position pays between $85,000 – $95,000 annually based on experience.
  • The Showroom Manager reports to the Sales Director.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, reach, and grasp 30 lbs of ceramic dinnerware and to load/unload bins of merchandise
  • Ability to see and distinguish between patterns and colors
