Purple Finch specializes in creating custom wedding dresses, bridal gowns, formal outfits, and accessories. Based in San Francisco, we craft one-of-a-kind designs tailored to our clients’ visions, from initial sketches to personalized collections.

The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled full-time Tailor’s Assistant to support all aspects of our couture tailoring process.

Responsibilities

• Assist in every step of the couture tailoring process, including pattern adjustments, cutting, sewing, and embellishments.
• Perform bridal gown alterations to ensure a perfect fit for each client.
• Maintain a clean, organized studio to facilitate efficient workflows.
• Provide professional and courteous support during client fittings.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in women’s clothing tailoring (bridal/formal wear preferred).
• Expertise in working with corsets, lacework, and delicate fabrics.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction and fabric types.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly for client interactions.
• Proficiency in industrial sewing machines and fine hand-sewing techniques.
• Basic math skills for precise measurements and adjustments.
• A keen eye for detail and a passion for producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

• This is a full-time position starting at $25 per hour.
