Currently, there is an opening for a service & repair technician based in our San Jose, CA headquarters. We are seeking a self-driven individual who is committed to quality and innovation and have a passion for providing excellent customer service. The employee is primarily responsible for performing repair and calibration of torque tools and supporting laboratory accreditation activities for our ISO 17025 certified facility.

Position Summary

  • Tests, calibrates, and provides basic mechanical and electronic repairs in conformance to established standards and demonstrates familiarity with major functions and use of Mountz products including hand tools, power tools, multipliers and torque measurement equipment.
  • The employee reports to the Service Lab Manager.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs advanced mechanical and electronic repairs including repairs on electronic analyzers and other hand tools and electric drivers
  • Presets and calibrates analyzers and transducers; calibrates hybrid controllers, electronic tools and multipliers
  • Applies advanced troubleshooting techniques to isolate and diagnose equipment problems
  • Provides basic support via phone or e-mail to customers and internal departments, as needed
  • Performs quality control review and signature of calibration certificates
  • Participates in technical training sessions with internal and external customers
  • Participates in maintaining laboratory standards and equipment and in ensuring that San Jose cal lab maintains its ISO17025 certification
  • Other duties may be assigned

 

Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years related experience and/or training in repair/calibration lab environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to perform repair work and calibration procedures according to established procedures and timelines/commitments
  • Mechanical /technical aptitude
  • Experience in ISO-certified lab a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Management experience is a plus
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Joyce Shulman – Board Development Committee
Principal at Sonder Collective

Joyce is an innovation strategist who is passionate about creating positive social change. She is a consultant at Sonder Collective, a social impact consultancy specializing in climate, humanitarian, and global health issues.

With 15 years of experience in various sectors, Joyce brings expertise in strategic planning, research, and developing solutions. Her work is fueled by her curiosity and commitment to making a difference. Before joining Sonder Collective, she worked at digital health startups, Kaiser Permanente Innovation, Elevance Health Innovation, and  PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory Services. 

Joyce has a Master of Business Administration from the California College of the Arts and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University. She strongly believes in the power of creativity and entrepreneurship, which she promotes through graduate teaching at the California College of the Arts. She also served on the board of The Crucible, an industrial arts school in West Oakland. Currently, she serves as a founding advisory board member for COVEN, which focuses on activating spaces and places for monumental art. 

Joyce lives in San Francisco with her husband. They recently completed their first host experience within a cultural exchange program and are committed to hosting each year. In her free time, she enjoys adventuring in nature and collaborative public art projects with Five Ton Crane at Seaport Studios in Richmond.
