About us

Joshuvela is a San Francisco–based manufacturing studio and retail store crafting premium canvas and leather handbags and accessories. Founded in 2010, Joshuvela blends thoughtful design with in-house, sustainable production. Every piece is made in our own SF workshop, reflecting a deep respect for materials, people, and process. We believe that well-made objects should inspire, connect us to the natural world, and be rooted in care, for both the craft and the maker.

 

Summary

The Studio Manager oversees the planning and scheduling. This role supports various projects throughout the product release lifecycle, from concept and design to sales and shipping.

 

Tasks

  • Research. Efficiently research and present new information in a timely manner.
  • Meeting and establishing plan. Regular meetings to schedule and review product releases and marketing strategies.
  • Creating the calendar. Make calendar and fill all details needed to keep team on track.
  • Producing. Following up with everyone involved ensuring all parts are finished on time.
  • Review. Responsible for reviewing marketing assets for errors before publishing

 

Experience and Skills

  • Fluent in computers, email and researching things online yourself before using GPT.
  • Online skills, organizing skills, planning and calendar skills

 

Compensation and Schedule

  • Part-time position.
  • Mix of remote work and in person at our studio in San Francisco.
  • 2 month probation period at $20 hourly, then renegotiate a salary.

Joyce Shulman – Board Development Committee
Principal at Sonder Collective

Joyce is an innovation strategist who is passionate about creating positive social change. She is a consultant at Sonder Collective, a social impact consultancy specializing in climate, humanitarian, and global health issues.

With 15 years of experience in various sectors, Joyce brings expertise in strategic planning, research, and developing solutions. Her work is fueled by her curiosity and commitment to making a difference. Before joining Sonder Collective, she worked at digital health startups, Kaiser Permanente Innovation, Elevance Health Innovation, and  PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory Services. 

Joyce has a Master of Business Administration from the California College of the Arts and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University. She strongly believes in the power of creativity and entrepreneurship, which she promotes through graduate teaching at the California College of the Arts. She also served on the board of The Crucible, an industrial arts school in West Oakland. Currently, she serves as a founding advisory board member for COVEN, which focuses on activating spaces and places for monumental art. 

Joyce lives in San Francisco with her husband. They recently completed their first host experience within a cultural exchange program and are committed to hosting each year. In her free time, she enjoys adventuring in nature and collaborative public art projects with Five Ton Crane at Seaport Studios in Richmond.
