About Us

Golden Gate Furniture Co. creates limited edition furniture, art, and jewelry made from historic Golden Gate Bridge steel. We showcase and sell our work at art and wine festivals throughout the Bay Area, offering customers a unique piece of San Francisco history.

 

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, outgoing, and physically capable individual to represent our company at street festivals on weekends. This role involves setting up and breaking down a 10×10 canopy booth, transporting inventory, and engaging with customers to drive sales throughout the day.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive to and from festival locations in a company-provided Ford Maverick pickup truck
  • Load and unload canopy, display materials, and inventory
  • Set up and break down a 10×10 canopy booth and product displays
  • Engage with festival attendees, share our story, and sell products
  • Process payments using GoDaddy’s mobile system
  • Keep the booth clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout the day
  • Represent our brand with professionalism, enthusiasm, and integrity

 

Requirements

  • Must be available weekends for full-day shifts (~12 hours)
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds repeatedly
  • Clean driving record and valid California driver’s license
  • Comfortable driving a Ford Maverick pickup truck
  • Strong communication and sales skills
  • Friendly, approachable, and dependable
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Previous retail or festival experience a plus

 

Compensation, Location and Schedule

  • Hourly pay ($20) with time-and-a-half for overtime and double-time as applicable
  • Location: San Francisco Bay Area
  • Schedule: Weekends (Saturdays & Sundays), Full-Day Shifts (~12 hours)

Joyce Shulman – Board Development Committee
Principal at Sonder Collective

Joyce is an innovation strategist who is passionate about creating positive social change. She is a consultant at Sonder Collective, a social impact consultancy specializing in climate, humanitarian, and global health issues.

With 15 years of experience in various sectors, Joyce brings expertise in strategic planning, research, and developing solutions. Her work is fueled by her curiosity and commitment to making a difference. Before joining Sonder Collective, she worked at digital health startups, Kaiser Permanente Innovation, Elevance Health Innovation, and  PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory Services. 

Joyce has a Master of Business Administration from the California College of the Arts and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University. She strongly believes in the power of creativity and entrepreneurship, which she promotes through graduate teaching at the California College of the Arts. She also served on the board of The Crucible, an industrial arts school in West Oakland. Currently, she serves as a founding advisory board member for COVEN, which focuses on activating spaces and places for monumental art. 

Joyce lives in San Francisco with her husband. They recently completed their first host experience within a cultural exchange program and are committed to hosting each year. In her free time, she enjoys adventuring in nature and collaborative public art projects with Five Ton Crane at Seaport Studios in Richmond.
