ReGrained makes snack bars by using grain waste from small local breweries, including fellow SFMade member company Triple Voodoo. Currently ReGrained comes in two flavors- honey almond India pale ale (IPA) and chocolate coffee stout.
The company was founded by Dan Kurzrock and Jordan Schwartz in 2013. They met at UCLA and both grew up on the Peninsula. Heading back to the Bay Area after college was a natural choice for them, and fortuitous in that it is an epicenter for the food and sustainability movement as well as specialty food production.
“ReGrained’s vision is to build a nutrient bridge between craft brewing and food. Eventually we aim to take our model to every city where beer is brewed. That said, San Francisco will always be our creative center.” said Dan Kurzrock.
Snack bars are just the beginning. Stay tuned for a specialty flour product for use in baked goods.
