Empowering manufacturers. Creating jobs. Transforming our city.

Edwin Lee (San Francisco),  Mayor Sam Liccardo (San Jose), Mayor Bill Harrison (Fremont) and  Vice-Mayor Campbell Washington (Oakland) will sit together for an exciting conversation about manufacturing in their local communities, how their cities are connected and the launch of the Bay Area Urban Manufacturing Initiative. You’ll hear the national perspective on urban manufacturing from Robert Annibale, Global Director of Citi Community Development.  Don Howard, CEO of the James Irvine Foundation will offer a stirring talk on strengthening economic opportunity for workers. In a fun series of rapid-fire chats, manufacturers will sit with one of their buyers and talk about opportunities and challenges of keeping it local, including Daniel Witt of Tesla Motor Company and Mark Dwight, CEO of Rickshaw Bagworks. Finally, Kate Sofis, SFMade’s CEO will reveal the results of our first Bay Area State of Urban Manufacturing survey.
