Please join us in welcoming Johnny Jaramillo, the new Executive Director of PlaceMade, the sister nonprofit of SFMade that works with regional municipalities to generate jobs by creating more affordable real estate to grow manufacturing businesses. Johnny, who has extensive economic development, public policy, and city planning experience, most recently served as Economic and Workforce Program Manager for the Association of Bay Area Governments and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.
As Executive Director of PlaceMade, Johnny is responsible for the operations of both PlaceMade and its first built project, the Manufacturing Foundry at 150 Hooper. He also offers support to municipalities on industrial land use, zoning, planning, and how to retain and grow urban manufacturing.
“We have many opportunities to replicate and build on the success of the 150 Hooper project within the Bay Area and beyond,” said Johnny. “I think it goes without saying that the industrial sector is an absolutely essential and critical part of our overall economic ecosystem. It makes the Bay Area the thriving place that it is.”
