Empowering manufacturers. Creating jobs. Transforming our city.

The San Francisco Business Times and SFMade has published their first-ever manufacturing supplement with a selection of profiles and stories focused on why manufacturing matters; how evolving manufacturing technologies are making the industry cleaner, faster, and more efficient; and why the industry is a promising conduit to jobs and career pathways for local residents who lack four-year degrees or face other barriers to employment. The special issue also profiles SFMade for our first decade of work helping local manufactures start, grow, and thrive. Additionally, you’ll find profiles with a handful of local manufactures from a variety of industries, including Heath Ceramics, Nana Joes Granola, Nanomix, Automatic Arts, and Evolve Manufacturing Technologies.

We are extremely grateful for our partnership with the SF Business Times, and for their first-of-a-kind effort to produce a supplement that educates readers about the industry, provides a behind-the-scenes look local manufacturers, and looks to the future and the potential of the industry to reinvigorate the local economy as we emerge from the COVID-19 crisis.

We hope you will take some time to read these stories to learn more about how local manufacturing makes the Bay Area a richer, more diverse, and more vibrant, and more globally competitive region.
