Vibe Bistro, nestled at the Richmond BART station transportation hub, redefines the coffee shop experience with a soulful touch. The position

An experienced barista will have a passion for coffee. You will have the ability to make high-quality espresso drinks, pour-over coffee, and other beverages. You will have excellent customer service skills and a friendly, positive attitude You will manage a busy café using your skills and experience to create a memorable experience for our customers. You will ensure consistent and effective communication and implementation relative to brand initiatives; verify compliance and adherence to brand service, food quality and facility appearance standards.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ability to measure dry and liquid food stuffs in units of measurement such as cup, pint, quart, pound, and ounce to properly adhere to recipe and production requirements.
  • Ability to operate machinery and make general observations in regards to safety and accuracy of work using visual acuity.
  • Able to communicate fluently with guests and staff and articulate dishes, instructions, etc.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations regarding food preparation, serving, and building maintenance requirements during shifts.
  • Report, investigate and help resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations.
  • Support compliance with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests.



  • Greet everyone entering the food hall and welcome them Vibe Bistro.
  • Prepare or serve hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, or teas.
  • Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils, or equipment.
  • Report function issues with equipment.
  • Describe menu items to customers or suggest products that might appeal to them.
  • Provide customers with product details, such as coffee blend or preparation descriptions.
  • Receive and process customer payments.
  • Serve prepared foods.
  • Stock customer service stations with paper products or beverage preparation items.
  • Take customer orders and convey them to other employees for preparation.
  • Wrap, label, or date food items for sale.
  • Demonstrate the use of retail equipment.
  • Set up or restock product displays.
  • Utilize cash register/point-of-service to take payment for customer purchase.
  • Tech-savvy skills put to test with multiple delivery tablets/systems for delivery orders.



  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • 1 year of experience with Vibe Bistro or 3 years of restaurant/café experience
  • Specialty Coffee knowledge/experience (required)
  • ServSafe Certification (preferred)


Compensation and benefits

  • Salary: $20-$25/hourly
  • Possibility to work part-time or full-time.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday from 4am to 2pm. Availability to work for some holidays and eventually for special events/catering.
