Bryr Studio is a collection of hand-made clogs inspired by the West Coast lifestyle. Founded in 2012 and based in the Dogpatch district of San Francisco, every pair of Bryr clogs are hand-made in our factory. Dedicated to the simple idea that the best products are made with the best materials, Bryr clogs are constructed using the strongest, most supple American leathers and traditional European solid-wood bases.
Our Manufacturing team is the backbone of our company, and we are looking to add individuals to our growing team who enjoy making with their hands, pay attention to details, have exceptional work ethic, and are interested in working in product manufacturing. The Manufacturing team is responsible for making the highest quality products for our customers in a timely, safe and efficient manner.
This job is a trainee position, where you will learn the basics of clog making in our 3-month training program. At the end of the program, you will be eligible to be promoted to the position of Manufacturing Teammate. Read more below.
The Bryr Clog Manufacturing Assistant is a team player who loves a predominantly physical, hands-on job. While a passion and proven skill for making products is essential, we require no technical experience in clog-making. We are excited to teach you our processes and offer paid on the job training! This role is perfect for a focused, efficient, and detail-oriented person who loves to refine their craft through repetition and continuous improvement in a collaborative environment.
The Clog Manufacturing Assistant thrives in a team-oriented environment and is critical to the success of the company. We value self-awareness, being open to feedback, and prioritizing quality, safety, and efficiency. This position is not for you if you prefer working solo, default to a ‘no,’ or do not have a strong desire for personal and professional growth.
As a Clog Manufacturing Assistant, you will be trained in the introductory techniques of making our clogs. In the past, most Assistants were trained up in about 3 months. As a Manufacturing Assistant, you will learn the introductory clog making techniques, including lasting, prep, and finishing, and learning the basics of our materials and manufacturing flowl. Ultimately, we are looking for someone with a passion for making beautiful products, who supports their coworkers, loves finding innovative solutions to evolve the way we do things, and is wholeheartedly enthusiastic about the growth of our business. Bryr provides a paid training program for candidates who join the team without prior clog-making experience. This training includes but is not limited to; clog lasting, preps, materials education, and basic understanding of LEAN practices.
Upon satisfactory completion of the Assistant level introductory training, qualified candidates will advance to be a Manufacturing Teammate and will be trained on the full job role of Teammate, with associated pay raise (see below).

Joyce is an innovation strategist who is passionate about creating positive social change. She is a consultant at Sonder Collective, a social impact consultancy specializing in climate, humanitarian, and global health issues.
With 15 years of experience in various sectors, Joyce brings expertise in strategic planning, research, and developing solutions. Her work is fueled by her curiosity and commitment to making a difference. Before joining Sonder Collective, she worked at digital health startups, Kaiser Permanente Innovation, Elevance Health Innovation, and PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory Services.
Joyce has a Master of Business Administration from the California College of the Arts and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University. She strongly believes in the power of creativity and entrepreneurship, which she promotes through graduate teaching at the California College of the Arts. She also served on the board of The Crucible, an industrial arts school in West Oakland. Currently, she serves as a founding advisory board member for COVEN, which focuses on activating spaces and places for monumental art.
Joyce lives in San Francisco with her husband. They recently completed their first host experience within a cultural exchange program and are committed to hosting each year. In her free time, she enjoys adventuring in nature and collaborative public art projects with Five Ton Crane at Seaport Studios in Richmond.
