We have facilities in San Jose, Santa Clara, Stockton, Rancho Cordova, Wheeling, IL and a new location in the Atlanta, GA area. We serve the manufacturing needs of over 200 companies in Silicon Valley and beyond, producing Sheet Metal, Machined Parts, Cable Assembly, and Electro-Mechanical and Electronic Assemblies.

About this Opportunity:
The Cost Accountant directs activities of contribution margin analysis, manufacturing variances and inventory valuations. The position provides recommendations to senior management in support of the achievement of Company Goals.

Responsibilities:

Weekly reconciliation and review of inventory accounts.
Assist in supervision and development of accounting staff.
Responsible for month-end close of inventory and work-in-process ERP modules, prepare journal entries, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward.
Quarterly and annual E & O reserve analysis and recommendations.
Assist with financial policies, accounting practices, and cost controls.
Assist with financial audits, work in special projects if required.
Work closely with materials team to ensure that cycle counts and physical inventories are completed and recorded. Assist in analyzing variances.
Prepare contribution margin analysis by customer/program and division monthly, analyze any variances.
Drive the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of improvements and changes to the cost accounting system.
Analyze labor and material Costs, burden and expense items, inventory and profit and loss adjustments.
Validate the COGS as part of the month-end close procedures.
Work with the materials department to analyze PPVs.
Assist the controller with recommending policy changes around inventory and materials to increase. cash flow.
Ensure validity of ERP through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control, production and work order processing.

Job Requirements / Skills:

BS/BA degree with accounting or finance concentrations
5 years progressively responsible cost accounting experience in manufacturing company environment.
Thorough understanding of GAAP accounting principles, general accounting concepts, and technical and financial accounting concepts.
Exceptional management skills, including motivating, coaching, performance management and budgeting.
Advance Excel skills.
Extensive knowledge of, and skill with, at least one high level business accounting software or accounting modules of an advanced ERP system. Data mining and report writing (Crystal, MS
Access, or equivalent) skills are desirable but not required.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Ability to work independently and the skill to interact with all levels and departments.
