SFMade works to support local manufacturers throughout the region so that they can thrive, innovate, and create good jobs to help to create a more diverse and sustainable economy in the Bay Area. We work to foster a thriving ecosystem where manufacturers can flourish, creating quality jobs that benefit families and individuals in our community. Our network of over 700 local manufacturers in San Francisco, San Jose and the East Bay sustains more than 10,000 jobs.
We know that when manufacturing remains local and in our neighborhoods we create a new environment, opening up equitable opportunities, a diverse and strengthened economy and a new kind of vibrancy to our amazing communities.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, SFMade is governed by a dedicated ten-member Board of Directors and managed by its CEO. The executive leadership team, of which the Development Director is a member, is supervised by the CEO and includes experienced leaders responsible for strategy, program development, fundraising, administration, finance, and accounting.
The Development Director is a key leadership team member who participates in strategic decisions that advance SFMade’s mission, impact, and longevity. This position is exempt, salaried, and non-union.
The Development Director is responsible for developing and successfully executing a plan to maintain and grow the current annual fundraising goal of $1.5 million through a combination of private, city, state, and federal grant programs, and to build on SFMade’s base of foundation and corporate grants, major gifts, individual donors, and event fundraisers. The CEO is a partner in development, and provides direct guidance with fundraising strategy, tactics, and implementation. The Development Director needs to be an experienced self-starter who can develop and implement comprehensive philanthropy programs. They will attend occasional Board meetings to provide updates, share strategies for donor cultivation, and encourage Board giving. The Development Director works with a Salesforce administrator but is otherwise responsible for all development activities and record-keeping.
If you are a motivated and experienced fundraising professional with a passion for making a difference in the community, we encourage you to apply.
