Vander-Bend Manufacturing is a vertically integrated Contract Manufacturer specializing in low and medium volume component and product manufacture for the Medical, Semiconductor, Data, Telecommunications, and related industries. We have facilities in San Jose, Santa Clara, Stockton, Rancho Cordova, Wheeling, IL and a new location in the Atlanta, GA area. We serve the manufacturing needs of over 200 companies in Silicon Valley and beyond, producing Sheet Metal, Machined Parts, Cable Assembly, and Electro-Mechanical and Electronic Assemblies.

About this Opportunity:

The Environmental Health, Safety and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for enforcing a culture of safety and compliance within all Vander-Bend Manufacturing Northern California facilities.


Monitor and assess situations that may pose a health and safety risk to employees or the environment.
Implement safety programs and policies that comply with all health and safety regulations.
Work closely and collaborate with global EHS personnel.
Train and oversee employees on health and safety procedures and best practices.
Conduct regular inspections to identify and report hazards and EHS violations.
Monitor employee activities, processes and workspace to ensure adherence to safety standards.
Ensure the company is always prepared to submit all the relevant health, safety and regulatory documents.
Maintain all active environmental and safety permits, certifications, and memberships.
Promote and enforce the use of safer work equipment, materials, PPE, and supplies.
Lead monthly Safety Meetings or other safety-related events.
Track and investigate incidents and produce reports.
Monitor exposure to certain hazardous chemicals or materials used in the manufacturing process.
Report to Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) and other relevant organizations.
Keep up to date with the latest EHS trends, policies, regulations and best practices.
Collaborate and build long-term relationships with key stakeholders such as the management team, customers and regulatory agencies.

Job Requirements / Skills:

Associate degree in occupational health or a related field.
2 years’ experience as an EHS coordinator or a similar role.
Detailed knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal regulations and standards such as OSHA, EPA, ANSI, etc.
The ability to read and interpret safety data sheets.
Proficiency in computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong leadership and training abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
