Manufacturing & Supply Chain Manager (San Jose, CA)
The job is an all-encompassing position supporting the company’s main revenue generation channels. The person in this position manages directly both the ‘make’ and ‘buy’ functions, including the personnel inside Mountz responsible for producing products as well as the relationships with any companies or sub-contractors selected to include supporting the PDP (Product Development Process), managing the direct and indirect labor, supervisors and engineers of the department, interfacing with the management of sub-contractors and other vendors, driving improvements in cycle time, yield, testing, and cost. This person also directly manages the company’s purchasing efforts.
He/She will be based in our San Jose, CA headquarters and reports to the Director of Operations.
Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing the internal production operations
• Interfacing with the management of any subcontractors used to produce Mountz-designed products or components or sub-assemblies used therein
• Manages production planners and staff to ensure that customer requirements and deadlines are met
• Manages the team of buyers that procure products, components, or services
• Defines and reviews the key metrics used to improve cycle times, yields, OTD, availability, and cost reductions
• Manages the resources of the production and supply chain departments
• Participates and supports the Material Review Board and helps drive overall quality improvements
• Ensures all manufacturing locations and sub-contractors operate in conformance with ISO and other relevant standards and drives meeting quality objectives
Qualifications:
• Engineering Degree with a strong GPA AND a minimum of 5-10 years experience managing a Production operation and the Supply Chain function
• Mechanical aptitude and exposure to machining, plating, molding, and other related operations
• Leadership, planning, and decision-making skills are critical
• Knowledge of Engineering Change Notice and documentation control processes
• Must be detail-oriented
• Exceptional work ethic and proven track record of success in the industry
• Strong vendor management and partnership development skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma background preferred, SPC experience required
• ERP experience a must, NetSuite experience a plus
• Experience with multiple operating locations, especially in Asia
