COMPENSATION

$60,000–$68,000/year + up to $12,000/year bonus

Job Description

Hey! Do you like hummus? Are you passionate about community and local food systems? Do you have experience working in commercial kitchens?

About Us

Obour Foods is a small, San Francisco-based producer of gourmet dips and pita chips. We currently sell through +18 farmers’ markets, breweries, and grocery stores around the Bay Area – as well as our flagship brick & mortar retail location at the San Francisco Ferry Building Marketplace.

Many say our hummus is the best they’ve ever had. We’re inclined to agree.

We’re independently owned, profitable, and scaling fast — and we’re looking for a reliable, organized, and people-savvy Sales Operations Manager to take ownership of our customer-facing sales: weekend farmers markets, retail, wholesale, and grocery demos.

The Position

This is a full-time, salaried position that includes weekend field work and midweek admin time. You’ll manage a 20–25 person team across farmers markets and retail, oversee our Ferry Building shop, coordinate wholesale accounts, and lead our grocery store demo program.

You’ll also work closely with our General Manager, who supports this role throughout the week — and especially on weekends. On Saturdays and Sundays, you’ll share on-call responsibility with the GM, ensuring someone is always available to help troubleshoot any field issues across markets or deliveries.

Key responsibilities

  • Hire, train, and manage 20-25 part-time sales reps
Oversee weekend market execution across 18+ Bay Area locations
  • Manage performance and staffing for our SF Ferry Building shop
  • Maintain regular contact with 25+ wholesale accounts and follow up on orders
  • Lead and manage our grocery demo program — plan schedules, coordinate staffing, track performance, and support execution
  • Coordinate with the General Manager and Production Manager to align inventory, signage, and staffing
  • Submit weekly sales summaries and team performance updates to the founder

Weekly Schedule

  • Monday: Run the Ferry Building shop + recap weekend sales
  • Tuesday: Admin day (staff scheduling, wholesale follow-ups, demo planning, etc.)
  • Wednesday–Thursday: Days off
  • Friday: Work the shop, receive inventory, prep for the weekend
  • Saturday–Sunday: Work one market or shop shift per day and oversee field team execution; GM provides backup and shared support

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years experience in retail, food service, CPG, farmers markets, or hospitality
  • Experience managing part-time/hourly teams across multiple locations
  • Class C Drivers License
  • Highly organized and tech-comfortable (Google Sheets, Slack, Square, etc.)
  • Based in the Bay Area and available to consistently work weekends
  • Strong communicator — clear, direct, confident and dependable
  • Comfortable being on-site at markets, retail, and events
  • Nice to Have:
    • Experience managing or participating in CPG grocery demos or field marketing
    • Spanish fluency
    • Familiarity with using AI tools (ChatGPT, Notion AI, etc.) to improve workflows and communication

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $60,000–$68,000/year depending on experience
  • Quarterly bonus: Up to $3,000/quarter based on performance (up to $12,000/year)
  • Bonuses tied to team performance, shop execution, wholesale/demo activity & reporting
  • 2 weeks paid time off
  • $250/ month wellness stipend (for gym, therapy, health insurance, etc.)
  • Company-provided laptop and cell phone
  • Weekly Obour product + employee discounts
  • Opportunity to grow as we expand into Southern California
