We are Bread SRSLY, makers of wildly nourishing, SERIOUSLY delicious, gluten-free and vegan
sourdough bread in Berkeley, CA. Our mission is to reunite people with sourdough when they
thought good bread was off the table. We bake thousands of loaves of bread each week and ship
them all over the US to eager gluten-free eaters. We value organic ingredients, sustainable
business practices, livable wages, fun in the workplace, and meaningful relationships with our staff,
our vendors and our customers.

Job Duties

As a Baker, you create beautiful, high quality breads using our fermented doughs. You form an
integral part of our quality control process, and you inspect baking equipment, fermented doughs,
and finished products to ensure that we produce consistent, high quality products. With your eagle
eyes for detail, and a mind for numbers, you can deliver great breads every day.

We are looking for a team player who takes initiative and is proud of their work. You value
Communication, Collaboration, and Respect in the workplace. You like getting the job done, and
done well. This full-time non-exempt position reports to the Baking Subject Matter Expert.
Your responsibilities will include:

● Setting up and Breaking down your station, including transporting dough, furniture, smallwares, product, and more between rooms, and in and out of the walk-in refrigerator
● Inspecting equipment, furniture, dough, finished product, and supplies to ensure functionality and quality
● Portioning, Shaping, and Baking breads within specifications
● Baking in at least 3 different kinds of ovens, and managing different oven timers, programs and safety procedures
● Inspecting finished products for Quality and Consistency
● Completing daily forms and logs to document baking and lot code information
● Maintaining a clean workstation and an allergen-free workspace
● Cleaning the baking room at the end of each day, including ovens, hood, floors, tables, scales, sinks, and equipment
● Communicating with staff in other stations to give and receive feedback, and make adjustments that benefit the entire process
● Taking direction, instruction, and feedback from the Baking SME and the Shift Leads, and sharing your ideas and feedback as well
● Assisting in other stations on occasion, as directed by the Shift Leads
● Adjusting your schedule during the holiday season (November-January) to accommodate higher capacity
● Participating in team meetings, and participate in the team Slack conversations
● Other duties as assigned

● Strong! And able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds

Additional requirements:

● Ability to follow and enforce our Good Manufacturing Processes
● Conversational Spanish is required. Conversational English is a plus
● Food handler's certification a plus

Compensation

$17 Per Hour
