About the Job:
We have Barista positions open at our cafe located at 3629 Taraval St! We are looking for people with a passion for creating memorable experiences in a high-volume environment. We have both full-time and part-time positions available. This role has a starting hourly rate of $16.50, but can be adjusted based on proven experience. Reviews and continued success:
Once you join the Andytown team you will start the 90-day review process. During this time we connect you with your supervisor to make sure you get the training you need to succeed in your role. We also have our HR Coordinator and Staff Accountant reach out to you at the 30 day and 60 day marks to make sure that your benefits and employee info are all in order so that your benefits are in effect by your 90-day review. This is a performance review led by your supervisor as well as a pay raise discussion. After you complete the 90-day review, employees will have a 6-month review followed by an Annual Review that is also a pay rate discussion.

Barista Job Description and Goals:
-Knowledge of coffee menu, various brewing methods, non-coffee drinks, and food menu
-You are excited and curious about our food program; you check in with the kitchen team with any questions, customer accommodations, and allergy information before your shift and throughout service.
-Operating cash register, expediting drink and pastry orders, preparing and steaming milk, maintaining the cleanliness of milk pitchers and drink pass as you go.
-Ensuring that all beverages are to Andytown standard, only serving drinks you would be stoked to receive.
-Closing the shop and bar, ensuring equipment, and café are exceptionally clean, the register is balanced.
-Upholding health department standards, understanding what to do in case of inspection.
-Motivated to create memorable experiences for guests by being on top of your coffee making game with humility. You believe that making genuine interactions with guests is just as important as making delicious coffee.
-Willingness to assist with event setup, service, and breakdown when needed
-Commitment to honing your coffee skills and food knowledge
-Ability to do repetitive work, including tamping espresso by hand
-Comfortability working in a small space in close proximity to others in a fast-paced environment
-Ability to lift 25-50 pounds
-Ability to stand up to 8+ hours every shift
-Sometimes will need to bend, crouch, kneel and reach over-head, to complete tasks
Experience in a cafe setting is not required, but is always a bonus!
Starting hourly rate of $16.50 (can be adjusted based experience as this role has a pay cap of $23.00) + tips.
Options to join Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance OR SF Medical Reimbursement Account, options to join Cal Savers IRA, and options to join commuter and flexible savings account after 60 days of employment. Sick pay starts accruing on the first day of hire and can be used after the 90th day of employment.
This position has open availability. Employees submit their preferred schedules to their supervisor. This position is eligible for overtime as long as those hours are approved by the manger.
