POSITION SUMMARY:
The Client Engagement Manager is a key and central role, dedicated to keeping a finger on the pulse of the companies we serve and providing them with targeted technical assistance. They will implement, strengthen and scale a comprehensive and evolving suite of industry specific Advising and Educational tools and offerings in communities across the Bay Area. The primary goal of this position is to ensure that the appropriate type and level of support is provided to the companies that SFMade is engaged with so that they can scale profitably, and both sustain and create new jobs. The Client Engagement Manager will also support the Bay Area Urban Manufacturing Initiative.

SFMade is seeking an energetic, highly organized, and entrepreneurial person to support and deliver a suite of innovative, high performing business development programs across the Bay Area, focused on helping manufacturing businesses to thrive and create jobs for local residents. This position is currently fully remote and over time will be remote up to 3 days/week, with 2 days/week working between the East Bay, San Francisco, and San Jose.

Job Duties

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Programs and Services Engagement
- Proactively reach out to engage companies in targeted programs and services
- Track and analyze company engagement
- Manage direct technical assistance primarily through California Manufacturing Accelerator Plus (CMA+):
- Deliver, and/or coordinate direct technical assistance in the areas of strategic guidance, operational efficiency, finance, sales, marketing, and workforce.
- Conduct routine check-ins and “health check” surveys
- Cross refer to program team to meet the needs of companies and deploy specialized advisors or consultants as needed

Event Coordination
- Manage Bay Area Urban Manufacturing Initiative events, including annual Regional Summit
- Help to craft workshops, BAUM cohort meetings, and other educational offerings
- Present program orientations and facilitate workshops
- Coordinate other events as necessary

Marketing and Outreach
- Manage recruitment of new companies for technical assistance programs
- Help to gather newsworthy content and create success stories, for use across the organizations marketing channels

Deliverables, Reporting and Metrics
- Administer program deliverables, consultant invoicing, and routine billing
- Create and monitor metrics to demonstrate program impact
- Manage program deliverables for grants and funding partners

Program and Resource Development
- Create and maintain relationships with select service providers
- Utilize knowledge from the field to improve programs and services
- Help to build new program tools and resources

Job Requirements

- BA in business, manufacturing, or related field or relevant experience
- 2+ years of operational experience in manufacturing or a related industry
- Small business ownership/operation and/or understands the needs of small business
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Very at ease with technology/software, fast learner
- Excellent organizational and project management skills: attention to detail, problem solving, time management, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines and objectives
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Passion for SFMade’s mission
- Experience with Salesforce CRM a plus
- Comfortable presenting in group settings

Compensation

$65,000-$75,000 annual salary + benefits, DOE
