Job Duties

Summary of Position:
- Recruit and lead a kick-ass Events team that works to give the ultimate Humphry Slocombe experience from weddings to festivals
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Events department which includes, cleaning and maintaining the department’s equipment, responding to catering inquiries, identifying and managing the application process for on-brand events, ensuring invoicing and payments are up to date, and budgetary guidelines.
- Partner across departments to ensure that orders, scheduling, promotions, special events and operations run smoothly

- Planning events from start to finish according to requirements, target audience, client requests, and objectives.
- Working directly with clients to create a relationship, and offering ways for Humphry Slocombe to enhance their event.
- Creating estimates, invoicing clients, ensuring payment, and reporting results on a monthly basis to the management team.
- Sourcing and negotiating with vendors and suppliers, with an ability to navigate a variety of city permit offices.
- Coordinate and execute permitting for all lines of Events’ revenue.
- Hiring, training and scheduling of Events on-call and regular staff.
- Leading promotional activities for the event, working across teams with digital manager and PR.
- Supervising Events staff during events, ensuring that the Events Team provides our high expectations for presentation, quality, and service.
- Ensuring events are fully staffed, completed smoothly and stepping up to resolve any problems that might occur.
- Works 100%-75% of catering events.
- Works all festivals and V.I.P events.
- Drive Ice Cream food truck (who we call Betty) when necessary for events, permitting and maintenance.
Analyzing the event’s success and preparing reports.

Job Requirements

- Prior experience in events (staff or as a lead)
- Food Handler’s card
- Proficient in MS Office / Google Docs
- Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
- Excellent organizational skills
- A knack for problem-solving
- Customer-service orientation
- A team player with leadership skills
- Clean driving record and ability to drive large vehicles such as our Ice Cream Truck (who we call Betty)
