The Aesthetic Union is a letterpress shop located in the trendy Heath Ceramics building in the Mission District of San Francisco. Founded in 2012 on the premises that well-crafted paper goods have a place in our online lives we strive to bring the tactile experience to the community.
Our small retail shop sells the art supplies we love using to create as well as the artwork and stationery we make on-premises. We also specialize in custom letterpress printing. This includes, but is not limited to, business cards, wedding invitations, greeting cards, packaging, and posters. Our studio also hosts letterpress workshops 2 times a month.
We are looking for a person who is passionate about the same things we are, craft! We’re also looking for a person who is beginning their career in sales, specifically in sales of crafted items. It is important to us that this person works well with our small collaborative team and has the self-motivation to grow personally as well as grow the shop as well.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Report to Sales/Project Manager
- Following yearly sales goals and strategy
- First point of contact for clients
- Field all inquiries requesting estimates, general and sales information, project advice. ○ Answer phone calls, accelerate to the appropriate team member
- Respond to in-house and online inquiries via our submissions portal.
- Identify new market opportunities and pursue (Sales Dev)
- Pursue previous clients to reorder
- Create estimates for client projects
- Collect all necessary specs for clients’ projects (via email and/or in-person)
- Research to ensure availability of materials
- Review project with Project Manager or appropriate team member
- Submit estimates to clients
- Convert approved estimates into Invoices
- Create invoice
- Create supply order list
- Handoff project to Project Manager
Other Duties (if in person):
- Post-production help
- If there is a need, Junior Project Manager will assist in gluing, collating, and assembling, and packaging projects in post-production.
- Light retail
- Assist in daily functions of our retail storefront, as needed.
- Tracking shipments
- Check-in supply shipments when they arrive to the store
- Label and store supplies according to the project they are assigned to.
Growth Areas:
- Streamlining the process of first contact and sales (Creating Sales systems)
- Eventually taking lead Sales position and growing the companies revenue stream with new and evergreen clients.
- Expert product knowledge
- Integrating custom sales with product sales (wholesale and retail)
Job Requirements
Required Experience:
- Sales experience (BA, BS preferred)
- G-Suite, document, spreadsheet experience
- Quickbooks experience
Skills/Experience Preferred
- G-Suite, document, spreadsheet experience
- Quickbooks experience
- Demonstrated experience accessing and properly managing confidential information ● Adobe Creative Suite, basic skills with Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat
- Print industry knowledge and experience preferred
- Art industry knowledge
- In-person preferred
Compensation
Starts at $22/hour

Monday-Wednesday 10-6 pm OR Monday - Friday 10 - 2pm
