We are looking for someone who is committed to the long-term health and success of our Bakery on Lawton Street. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for all hiring/firing, employee reviews, and scheduling for the Bakery team in addition to managing the production and delivery of all pastries and bread baked at 3655 Lawton St while ensuring that any product leaving the Bakery meets our standards for food. In addition to running the Bakery, the person in this role will assist Lauren and Michael with setting up the kitchen space during the 3655 Lawton St. remodel.

Job Duties

Job Description and Goals:
- Manage production and delivery of all pastries and bread baked at 3655 Lawton Street
- Work with owners to find and set up a kitchen space during the remodel of 3655 Lawton Street
- Work with owners to design and equip the remodeled kitchen at 3655 Lawton Street
- Ensure that all recipes are easily accessible to kitchen staff and continually updated on shared google document.
- Maintaining prompt communication via slack/e-mail/phone
- Maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen, storage areas, and reach-in throughout service and before you go home.
- Handling equipment issues in your department, making sure that your equipment is maintained and functioning properly
- Ensuring that the schedule is published a month in advance, working with the team to get them the best schedule that we can give within our shared limitations
- Ensuring timely submissions of timesheets to the accounting department every payroll week
- Communicate new menu items to GMs so they can maintain signage
- Develop seasonal pastries and menu items throughout the year, and roll them out to the different locations
- Help produce content for marketing on social media and the Andytown newsletter. This may include taking photos of pastries with your personal phone.
- Support Andytown in execution of special events and holiday specialty items
- Ensure that all staff remain knowledgeable and excited about new products; when there is a new menu item, you alert the entire staff about allergy information.
- Help enforce the standards we have for food-when your cook needs assistance, you step in and troubleshoot to find solutions together while training them to hone their skills; you ensure they are tasting everything and quality controlling their product.

*You will be the first stop for shift coverage and helping team find coverage for shifts; This might mean working a double shift or working on your day off in emergency situations.

Job Requirements

- Positive communication skills and ability to adapt to challenges as they arise
- Kind teacher, facilitator, effective communicator, and willing to always work on your communication skills; you like sharing knowledge and like learning, you are able to meet others where they are at.
- Ongoing management training to build conflict resolution skills
- Complete harassment Prevention Training within 90-days of hire
- Complete diversity, equity, and inclusion training within 90-days of hire
- Complete manager Servesafe Certification within 30-days of hire
- At least 2-years’ experience in a professional kitchen
- Proficiency in google docs and scheduling platforms is a plus
- Provide a safe workplace for all employees
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must be able to stand up to 8hrs a day
- Ability to do repetitive work including bending, crouching, twisting, chopping, rolling dough, and scooping
