Job Duties


· Design tank components and accessories, test fixtures, and manufacturing-related component
· Use in-house test facilities to test tanks at high pressure (this often includes blowing them up)
· Analyze data from tests and dissect test samples in order to determine causes of failure and mitigation strategies
· Document design justifications, test procedures, test results, and root cause analyses
· Create 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components and assemblies
· Assist with tasks related to shop organization and management
· Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance stacks
· Perform change management activities such as creating and tracking engineering change requests
· Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures (i.e. Quality System Procedures)

Job Requirements


· Enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university in mechanical/aerospace engineering or a related program, preferably entering your final year of study
· Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher
· Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent organization skills
· Experience with CAD
· Comfort with hand calculations based on first-principles analysis

· Enjoy a combination of computer-based, pen-and-paper, and hands-on work
· Thrive in a dynamic R&D environment and adapt smoothly to our evolving needs
· Contribute to our highly collaborative organization by working independently with limited oversight and proactively learning from and teaching members of our team
· Demonstrate excellent skills in documentation, organization, and communication
