Job Duties

The Order Fulfillment and Logistics SME is our master of scheduling and daily interdependencies. From sending bread from point A to point B, to monitoring inventory levels, you help Bread SRSLY’s operations run smoothly. With your quick, clear communication, you are able to solve problems before they occur, keep your teammates on track to succeed in their daily roles, and provide the feedback needed to create a seamless customer experience. You nimbly switch between tasks while still achieving your to-dos on schedule, and you can create and maintain your own to-do lists and timelines. You help facilitate communication between the Office team and the Production teams by having a role in each.

Our ideal candidate loves numbers, puzzles, details and due dates. This is a non-exempt leadership position that reports to the CEO. This highly collaborative role works closely with Shift Leads, People Lead, Process Lead, and SMEs from other stations, as well as the Account Manager, Customer Care, and Operations teams.

The Order Fulfillment and Logistics SME will:

● Be a leader and decision-maker in Order Fulfillment. Help all Order Fulfillment staff succeed in their roles, and train new staff.
● Foster a culture of communication, safety and food safety within the Order Fulfillment department
● Coordinate and pack all orders
○ Manage the Weekly Order Sheet
○ Create shipping labels
○ Coordinate carriers and build relationships with account representatives
○ Create and edit order invoices
○ Handle custom requests, reships and respond to mispicks
○ Assist others with order tracking
○ Communicate with stakeholders about order changes, shortages, etc
○ Schedule shipments and help schedule production surrounding carrier closures
○ Create and send route manifests to couriers
○ Manage and track product donations including building relationships with donation partners
○ Participate in decision making surrounding potential shipping delays

● Manage and improve Inventory and Receiving across the Operations and Production teams
○ Manage weekly purchasing for production and office supplies and ingredients
○ Manage our offsite storage and transportation from storage
○ Manage medium-term purchasing (Giusto’s, HBC existing stock, PC Cargo)
○ Be the backup for long-term purchasing (contracts, HBC reorders, psyllium, salt, xanthan gum)
○ Receive, stock, and document incoming shipments
○ Organize stock using visual inventory management and FIFO principles
○ Manage both weekly and month-end inventory counts
○ Participate in mock recall exercises

● Assist with production planning duties
○ Creating daily volumes and daily paperwork
○ Complete station paperwork
○ Participate in weekly production planning meetings with office team members
○ Participate in weekly production planning meetings with production team members

● Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization, and assist with creating solutions. Author and revise logistics and fulfillment procedures
● Assist with Order Fulfillment hiring including candidate evaluations
● Collaborate on projects with Operations and Production team members
● Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Basic Requirements:

● Fluency with Google Sheets or Excel, including basic functions
● Comfort with numbers and arithmetic
● Computer literacy
● Prior logistics or administrative experience
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lb
● Reliable transportation

Skills/Experience Preferred

Extra Credit:

● Prior Shipstation experience
● Driver’s License and clean driving record
● Conversational Spanish
