We build secret laboratories! Not the “beneath-an-extinct-volcano” kind — although we’re always up for a challenge (sorry, no supervillains).
APROE is a San Francisco prototyping company, with a unique specialty: we design and create advanced R&D facilities for some of the Bay Area’s most-prominent tech companies. Most of our projects are so badass that we can’t even say.
We’re looking for a Project Manager with experience in construction and architecture to help us create exceptional workspaces — from machine shops to microscopy labs, we design facilities that enable teams to achieve more.
Our ideal candidate is an experienced Project Manager with outstanding written, verbal, and visual communication skills. The Project Manager needs to be an efficient conduit of information between disparate stakeholders including: clients, architects, MEP engineers, general contractors, riggers, machine vendors, etc.
You’re a flexible, quick-thinker, able to integrate into projects that are already under way and provide relevant guidance after a short period of familiarization. Our subject matter is varied enough to require reliance on a number of experts for guidance — but familiarity with construction processes, architectural design, shop tools, and laboratory equipment is required.
You are well-versed in CAD, and will work directly with our CAD specialists to ensure the timely, accurate completion of detailed, complex deliverables. The ideal candidate can jump into Revit to quickly produce drawings when requested by a client.
You are upbeat and communicative, drama-averse, self-starting, self-directing, and eager to learn. You should be equally comfortable in the shop, the office, the worksite, and in client-facing opportunities.
This position reports to the Facility Setup Manager, and will be part of a team of 4-5 other Project Managers and CAD specialists all working together on several shared projects. This is a full time position with a competitive hourly rate. We think the diversity of our team makes us stronger, and we encourage qualified applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
